If you want to know your distance to the next shot, you simply need to touch the spot and the exact distance will be automatically displayed.
This G5 also comes with a digital scorecard that can record scores of players to a maximum of four. The scores can be saved and you can review it in your own computer at the comforts of your home.
With just 2 batteries (AA), this GPS can already be used. Other GPS comes with a rechargeable battery that is pre-installed but it becomes useless when it is empty and you are still playing because you need to go home first to recharge it.But with Garmin Approach G5, you can still update you next shot or know your position even if the battery is empty because you can replace it with 2 new AA batteries.
The weight is only 192.7 grams or 6.8 ounces. Display is clear with its 240 x 400 pixel resolution.

With the retail price of $313.00 the Garmin Approach G5 is priced on the higher end of similar gps devices and puts it about the same price range as the Sonocaddie V500 and the Golf Buddy World Platinum.
Once you take into account that the G5 has no fees to access Garmin’s course database you start to see how the Garmin Approach G5′s higher price is partially offset.
